For my recent Gameboy Zero build I used the plastic screen that came with this 3.5" tft as a glossy protector from the actual tft screen. its very easy to cut with either scissors or an exacto knife. Just make sure that you clean the tft and the plastic before you place your tft screen behind it otherwise you'll have your fingerprints in there until you take it apart to correct. (PS I've used these screens for 5 builds so far and they work great! They're cheap and super effective!)

The plastic that comes off of the tft has a pretty solid double-sided tape on it that you can pop off of the tft's case and you can easily adjust the tft alignment to it over and over to get your screen centered correctly (I used dabs of hot-glue to secure it all together to the case first and the tft to the plastic screen next. The end look gives it that old school tv recessed look. Here's a pic of the final product for my screen.
