Image guide for SD cartridge adapter?

Post by Ganreizu » Wed May 18, 2016 9:27 am

I have a kitsch-bent cartridge pcb but i don't know which pins on the SD card adapter get connected to which pins on the pcb.

Can anyone who has worked with the kitsch-bent cartridge pcb explain how to do this or even better make an image guide? :D

So thanks to dirtybullets he posted an image in his progress thread

But i don't quite understand where some of those pins go in the kitsch bent board. Help would be massively appreciated! :3

@Ganreizu I'm pretty sure you can wire it up anyway you want as long as the pins on the SD card you're mounting in your cartridge matches up with the pins on the bottom of the Pi Zero. You're just relocating the SD card reader from the Pi Zero to the gameboy cartridge.

Since you're not using the kitsch bent circuit board for an original gameboy you can pick any of the solder pads on that board and follow it to the cartridge reader and jump from the pins of the cartridge reader to the pi zero.

See this topic: http://sudomod.com/forums/topic/sd-card-pinout/

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

mmm i will try and clean up my rough guide i made so its a little more understandable, (some point over the next 24 hours) cos i spent a few days non stop testing when i did this, but lucky it worked first time :D

BTW judging the looks on that cart i can see it has some tracks going to from the solder pads to the slot pads,
tbh it don't matter where you solder it to just make sure you mark your output wires from the reader is correct (so say pin 1 on the card is 1 dot i marked on the wire from the socket, and so on, but i wished i had it on the right side and not of the left side (gets very close when closing up)

I think @Wermy said he would be showing how to wire to the kirch bent board as well as the method he originally used by connecting the SD to an original cartridge.
