Colors?
Colors?
So after an acetone spill that went unnoticed for a little too long I am considering painting the latest GBZ, any suggestions on colors? Its just the standard pink buttons for ABXY, the shell was originally color.

Re: Colors?
Look up hydro dipping on YouTube. It's possible to do with rattle can enamel.

Re: Colors?
Awesome as that would be (and quite possibly might be a possible future project) The screen and most on the other components are already installed, I can mask things off so painting isn't an issue, but submersing in water is a no go.
Currently I'm leaning silver with a frosted clear coat - since that is what I have an excess of on hand and I haven't seen a DMG shell in silver. I was thinking a gunmetal graphite gray (who doesn't like gunmetal gray) but I'm not sure how that would look with the pink buttons.

Re: Colors?
So the silver ended out more gray after the frosted clearcoat, but I don't think it looks too bad, better than before painting.

Re: Colors?
Thanks, it kind of makes me want to do another one in silver/gray and then hydrodip it in Black carbon fiber film and some heavy gloss clear. Tho that will likely be saved for my FP CM3 build since I plan on filling some holes around the ports so will be painting it anyway.
Re: Colors?
I thought about buying some of that water transfer printer paper, but A. its pretty expensive just for a one off use B. My inkjet isn't printing great right now - I did just pick up a color laser printer tho and C. With the gray cartridge I kind of liked the mono debadged look.
Re: Colors?
cool - not meaning to hijack this thread, but are you aware of anyone successfully adding button text to the case? my question got me thinking if it's been done for the X and Y buttons, and my forum searches aren't turning up anything (probably not using the right search terms).
