Hi guys
I'm doing research into builds where people have drilled four small holes in the top of their case, or sometimes in the cartridge at the back, and mounted the four status LEDs of the kite board. I remember one thread mentioning taping down the case with kapton tape? Modifying the HoolyHoo bracket to accommodate the LEDs?
My problem is, I stumbled upon this info a thousand messages and threads ago and now can't find the relevant info. So if it's your build, or you did this or know which thread I'm banging on about, can you pls PLS provide a link
And, for Kite, or for anyone else that knows... are the holes to see the SMDs on the CS board itself, or are these types of projects where people are replacing those status LEDs with their own, thus extending the LEDs to the case exterior?
Anyway, its almost 1am... fairly sure I should sleep at some point...
Status LEDs / drilled holes on case or cartridge
Re: Status LEDs / drilled holes on case or cartridge
The CS LEDS point towards the front of the case. The HoolyHoo bracket is perfect for this, just drill away, no issue. I wanted mine through the top, so I just notched the bracket a bit on the top edge and drilled the 2mm holes centered on the notch. works just fine. The kapton tape idea you mention is on the github of the CS. I tried it, and it didn't work very well for me. I couldn't get the glue to flow into the hole and not leave air bubbles.djascher wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 10:49 pmHi guys

I will for all of my next builds just use acrylic caulk (only for the LED holes). It is clear, water cleanup, and way way easier to use than hot glue.
