  • I would REALLY like to see a full screen cutout to match the screen size for kites supplied screen. So you would basically see the exact dimensions of the viewable screen, but no metal bezel of the screen edge. what i mean is not having the bottom left corner of the screen be rounded. Like kubino has done for a prototype here download/file.php?id=13403 Would need an initiative to make a new screen protector though. Personally I think it would be worth it even without the screen protector. People put so much time and money into these builds and cutting off a corner of the screen for aesthetics or just because the gameboy bezel is already set like that seems like a weak compromise, especially with a shell of this quality.
  • no actual cartridge, but an area that takes up the cartridge space and has vent holes, that works better with the fan for the CM3 than the normal back shell/cartridge. The normal back shell right now slightly covers up the intake of the fan.
  • doesnt need to be a battery compartment i dont think, since you cant even unplug the battery from there normally. having the horizontal lines around the whole case like a DMG would still be nice though?

EDIT: looks like you had the same idea! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0015/ ... 1545911162
  • Having some small markings on the inside for additional buttons, joysticks, etc would be nice if a user wanted to drill out some extra spots. maybe just having 2 or 3 options instead? 4 button, 4 button with joystick, 6 button, 6 button with joystick etc
  • i think having some start/select, abxy legends like those that are printed on cases now, but engraved would be pretty sweet but not necessary
  • One last thing, is if there would be a built in way to secure the screen to the front? right now everyone has to 3d print a bracket and glue it to the front half of the shell with screen in between.

Would you like to collaborate on doing a streamlined gameboy shell design?

Im currently designing a custom shell for my Pocket build coming up.
I was planning on doing a resin printed shell that would house a RPI3A+
and a 3.5" LCD. This design is a mix between the pocket and DMG.
built in Fusion 360.

I really would like to see a modern take on the classic gameboy designs that can suit our needs.

Man it would be SO COOL to have an injection molded DMG case like that. that had all the brackets and supports and cutouts done, stock. i love the idea. i would give it a shot 3d printing myself, but probably wouldnt use a 3d printed case permanently
