Best Way to Connect Cell Phone Battery?

Post by steelnation248 » Tue Jun 21, 2016 8:35 pm

So for my project, I found some smaller but decent mAh life cell phone batteries that I would like to use in my GBZ. However, I was wondering what the best way to connect them to the PowerBoost would be?

They have the three piece terminal, like the one pictured below. However, I am not able to find a good place to by that style of connector in a reasonable quantity (I don't really need 100 of them. Hah!) However, I know that soldering to this style terminal can be dangerous. I was wondering if anyone has had a solution for a similar type of battery.

Example of terminals: http://cf.ltkcdn.net/cellphones/images/ ... teries.JPG

Thanks!

Im using one of those kinds of batterys because I have a lot laying around.

At first i just tried electrical tape and taping it and that didn't work.

I agree with you that its not safe to solder the wires on. But I did that for mine anyways.

I did notice i melted the plastic a bit but it worked and the wires are secure.

This probably doesn't help much but Im just saying that for my project I soldered it directly to the battery.

You could get one of these and cut the top half off (Pins & holder) then build it into the battery bay.
