Re: How to wire LED's to Banggood Power Boost ? ? ?
Yeah, I'll try that, I have one more question, I don't have the banggood board in front of me right now, maybe its obvious, but how do I determine what side to put the positive and negative leg of the LED?

I got to a point where i answered my own question so hopefully i can answer yours. You definitely need a resistor. Im using a 120 on mine and they work like a charm. The first slot will illuminate whatever color you choose when the battery is fully charged. The last will illuminate when there is a load. Havent figured out the second yet but maybe someone else will chime in.rodocop wrote:So would you just wire the LED's directly to the board? Or do you need to have any resistors etc...I don't know much about wiring LED's.

Thanks for the help. I see we had a similar idea in mind with the location! https://www.instagram.com/p/BMAtDe7AU-z/

Lol that's what I'm thinking of doing lol on my first gameboy zero I didn't have the cut out form the top but on this biuld I'm doing it. But I'm trying to find a clear case cartridge for it.

Nice! I like the cutout because it gets rid of the need for a micro usb breakout board! You should be able to get a clear cartridge from kitsche bent.Psy128 wrote:RetroGamingNow wrote:Psy128 wrote:From my old notes this is the order the led row go's.

Silly me, I have opened a thread when I could have just used the search bar, however I would like to know if I can extend each positive to an rgb led and connect the grounds together? I do not have one yet but if anyone would like to try I would be very grateful sort of like thisPsy128 wrote:From my old notes this is the order the led row go's.

Re: How to wire LED's to Banggood Power Boost ? ? ?
Some simple math to work out what size resistor you need:
Lets say those terminals have 3V across them.
1. Look at the specs of your LED for the voltage. Lets say we have a red LED that takes 2V. Write that down.
2. Look at the specs of your LED for the current. Lets say we have a red LED that takes 20mA. Write that down too.
3. Use the formula V = I * R. V is voltage, I is current, R is resistance (size of resistor).
To find V we take the voltage across the terminals minus the voltage rating of the LED. So now we have V and I, we can plug them into the formula:
V = 3-2 = 1
I = 20mA = 0.02A
R = ?
So:
1 = 0.02 * R
So if you know basic math, we can divide by 0.02 on both sides, so R becomes the only thing on the right hand side:
I added as many steps to help you understand.
(1/0.02) = (0.02/0.02) * R
(1/0.02) = 1 * R
50 = R
So we need a 50 ohm resistor. You can confirm this with http://ledcalc.com/ but it's good to know the math and not be lazy.
Remember this is an example, you need to do the same thing with your specific led specs.
Lets say those terminals have 3V across them.

Yes it should work like that. I'm guessing you need a different resistor on each of the legs though, so use the formula I explained above to find the correct value for each one!Purple_Moogle_00 wrote:

Re: How to wire LED's to Banggood Power Boost ? ? ?
Probably a stupid question but I don't see a charger on this board. Will the led charging indicator still turn on if I use a charger board such as this. I would connect the battery to the charger, and I would wire the output to the powerboost

You don't see a charger on what board? The powerboost 1000c and the banggood alternative both charge. The board you posted seems like a slower charger that has the load attached to the battery, so I think the output is only whatever the battery provides (3.7/4.2V, not enough for gb0).Purple_Moogle_00 wrote:Probably a stupid question but I don't see a charger on this board.
