receivied mine this morning, thanks Pimoroni

gonna test out the wifi for my GBZ build, see how good the range is in the case and also if it causes any interference for other parts like the screen...

What do you mean by no more teensy? In a GBZ?
This is my first GBZ build and I did just order a Pi zero W for it. Just curious.

the Pi Zero W has built in wifi and bluetooth, which means you should (in theory and practice) be able to use a bluetooth controller for your controls (not the ones that have usb receivers)

which means not using a teensy and not as much wiring

but there will be issues to over come like the power for the controller and most of these controllers need to be turned on but these seem minor issues

Why wouldn't you use a teensey? Core functionality of the gbz is the handheld retro feel, right? How would the buttons on the gbz work with just bluetooth? Can't take it on the go.... Am I missing something?

being polite, you are missing the point...

but its fine, sometimes you have to think outside the box....

the bluetooth controller will be inside the the GBZ (once dismantled),

this will eliminate the use of a teensy (no need for a usb device and its wiring) and luckly with the right controller no need for a controls pcb (but thats a push, but achieveable)

its just a thought and something that the bluetooth function maybe used for...

if you want a teensy with all its wiring and a controls pcb go for that... the bluetooth controller is just a theory not put into practice yet....

I follow now. Great idea, just power the controller and pair Bluetooth.

it's not even a case of "someone make it work" but just hooking up a plain button board like Helders original button PCB, into the control board of a BT gamepad.

Well, thank you for not being rude I guess.

Most bluetooth controllers work in conjunction with the audrino. The buttons still have to connect to something. There is the option of this bluetooth EZ key by adafruit:

But it's not having enough power to run the whole gameboy, so you will still need the powerboost. It would work, but not sure it's worth the hassle rather than just use a usb hub. Or any less clutter, not to mention it's more expensive than a hub.
