Any one tried a HDMI to VGA adapter with this screen for a better looking picture?

Wouldn't get the HDMI port to play on TVs though. :[username 123 wrote:Any one tried a HDMI to VGA adapter with this screen for a better looking picture?

I finally got around to testing my ebay WankedaStore screen and it works.
Did you need to adjust any of the config.text settings to get a better picture? It still seems a little blurry and the image is not to the edge of the screen which I assume is overscan settings.
Also, did you have to desolder the terminals to get the controller board to fit in the case?

Nothing i did seemed to improve picture quality on the retropie menu. Just set overscan and you're good.jeffy1021 wrote:Did you need to adjust any of the config.text settings to get a better picture? Yes you need to desolder all the terminals to get it to fit into the case. Make sure you use the button board to flip the screen upside down before you desolder it. That way you'll have a hassle free HDMI connection.

Hey Cannikin. I noticed in your screen picture that the left side of your screen black board is a little to wide. I have the same issue because one side of the VGA screen is a little longer than the other side.
Looks like I adjusted it enough. I guess I was not using high enough numbers so I did not notice. Sense our screens are upside down, this was my configuration:

Code: Select all
overscan_left=-0
overscan_right=25
overscan_top=0
overscan_bottom=25

Because it's a composite video signal, you will never get a great picture and I'm sure there is some EMI stuff going on.
