Great cheap USB hub

Post by godkillax » Wed Jul 20, 2016 10:57 am

I found this hub on Amazon and it worked out great.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GO ... UTF8&psc=1

It's $4.99 with prime shipping.

I have an almost identical hub to that one, when wired up been light comes on but does not work, no keyboard recognised etc, did you do anything special to it? Any pics of the internals of it or is your gameboy all sealed now?
Thanks

Probably not the same one, this one has no leds (but I see the board has a place to put a led, so it might be the same board).

I didn't do anything special aside from desoldering the usb headers and extending them to make them fit inside a GB multiplayer adapter (see image below). I feel you though for having usb hub problems, I have now tried 5 different hubs and this is the only one i got working with Pi Zero, and all of them worked with Pi 3. I was going mad but buying another usb hub solved it for me.

Nice price. I'd rather spend the extra $3 to not de-solder USB ports.

Nice find though.

Haha yeah it's a fun idea. I'm using the original ext-port too :D
