Mushy aftermarket Gameboy DMG DPADs

Hi all,
I bought many different brands / types of aftermarket Gameboy DMG DPADs but they all feel a bit mushy and "sinked" in the case.
It is not a membrane problem because if I try using an original DPAD the feeling is perfect, even with the cheap membrane.
I measured with a caliper and it seems like the aftermarket DPADs are a little less tall.
Is there a suggestion you have to restore a good "feeling" also on the aftermarket DPADs?
