Important to note selection of Wifi USB device not only important for compatibility, but also for power usage. Between the 640x480 display, VGA GERT, USB Sound card and Wifi board, some of the Wifi adapters I used actually were pushing the Adafruit 1000C board and I was having issues.
I'm really interested in how you wired up the gert adapter to the pi zero and the vga ... and what usb sound card are you using. are you using powerboost and camble safe shutdown?
thanks

I'm using this cheap sound card; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IR ... UTF8&psc=1 . I can see about taking some pics of the mess tonight. I am using the Powerboost 1000c, and I also have the Camble safe shutdown, but not yet wired in (though I still have GPIO left.) To keep potential for noise down (may be paranoid), I soldered the GERT VGA direct to the Pi Zero thru a header. Once I get the GPIO sorted out for the shutdown, will clip all the unused pins flush.

I'm debugging a couple of issues so haven't finished yet:
* With the sound card and higher resolution display, it pushes the power usage pretty close to the limits of the Powerboost
* The sound output on the speaker is way too low, however headphone output is very loud thru the Helder's All in One board. Read may need to adjust some of the resistors to resolve this.

So I have this screen but am unable to get a picture

It's completely dark, but I have the led red on the board. When I press the menu button this won't come up either so I am unable to select the input

Any help?

My guess since you get no menu, it's not the video feed (menu shows up regardless.)

- Check ribbon cable connection and polarity
- Bad LCD
- Bad display board

Sorry :(

ribbon cable look fine holding it up to the light

the polarity is right as per the symbols on the rear

the board im not sure as the capacitor was burn out when i recieved it so i replaced with the same one and i get a light on the button board now, but i suppose i will never know what damage has been done when the capactior was fried

lcd not sure how you can test it without a working driver board really

hmmm just about sums my week up really

Ouch :( Not the best solution, but you can buy the controller without the LCD:
