Do you have anything non-conductive between the back of the screen and the control board? I assume that the screen backing is aluminum or steel and that's gonna short out any exposed pins on the back of the controller board if it's just sitting on top of it like that! At least stick a piece of paper between the two while you're testing...
Yes, the control board is glued on a soft mat or something. There is no contact.

By the way, thank you guys for your time.
Having the same issue. I have the bw screen sold by e-life and mine is setup exactly like the pictures. Same problem. Should I post pics as well?

Maybe we need to mod it to run on 5v? Even thought this board has been confirmed to run without mod?

I have the same screen as both of you guys. Bought it from vendor she-love. The screen needs minimum 6V and an active video source or else it will remain blank/black and appear like it's off. I'm working now to desolder the IC CHMC C0B 1509-5.0 but it's super buried around those four capacitors. Gonna be a hard squeeze to get in there.

@Cannikin Are you using your 640 screen with composite video or with VGA and an HDMI adapter?

Add this one to the list, @Fleder.

http://www.amazon.com/BW-3-5-Inch-Monit ... ailpages00

Seller is she-love

On the box, it stated "STSND Security TFT Monitor"

I tried it 5V out of the box which kinda works but there's interference and flickering. It definitely looked like it was underpowered. So, I had to mod the board. First, I gently separated the board from the display with a long knife to split the double sided foam tape. Then tried to figure out what to do. It's impossible to remove the IC without removing everything on the board first so I opted for using a jumper cable. Now it works great off of 5V USB power from the Pi itself.

Sorry for the delay guys, i was rather busy and have got 2 more things that required my attention.

Thank you solder and Popcorn, i've added both of your screens,
although some information is still missing. If you could update me with it, I would be glad.

Will update specs, need some more testin and time ;-)

- where did you buy your screen (amazon.com, .de, other shop)
eBay.de
- who was the seller that sold it to you (if amazon marketplace)
emarket666
- what was the brand of the screen (ePathChina, BW)
whitelabel - screen itself has some OnV or similar labeling on the metal frame
- dimensions of the case, the screen and the active area in mm
case: 68mm x 110mm x 14mm
screen: 76mm x 64mm
screensurface without the frameborder: 73mm x 55mm
- did you have to remove an IC to make it work with 5v
No, has separate 5V AND 3V3 pins!!
- pictures of the front and back (with case)
trashed already. Note, has no menubuttons altho you can hook some to the pcb
- picture of the board/screen/housing/packaging
http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic. ... t=80#p2971
- if used in a project here under project section, link

Anyone can confirm that i'll save some battery power if i use it on 3v3 rather then 5v. It works from the rpi 3v3 gpio, altho i need to test how it acts during gameplay first.

Composite. I don't know if there'd be room for one of those honking big adapters...maybe someone has a breakout board somewhere so it can just be bare wires?

I got this screen through the mail today:

http://www.gearbest.com/development-boa ... 29447.html

It's 77x64mm. The active area is 69x53mm.

It's exactly the same as the screen Piro got from gadgetinfinite oneBay, which is already in the spreadsheet.

I have the screen working on 5v by adding this wire.

Case:
108 x 68

Screen:
77 x 64

Active:
71 x 53

Buttons:
None

.. Also, it looks like you are missing my other alibaba screen.

Also maybe the wiki is a better location for this info?

Yup. I can confirm this. Last night I hooked up the screen to my wii and powered it through the pi board. Worked great. My problem was I didn't have an active video source. My screen works fine on 5v without any mod.

It worked on 5V unmodded but there was some slight video phasing going on. Putting the jumper cable made it much clearer
