So I got my Bw seen with the blue version 7 board. I hooked it up to 5v from my powerboat board and nothing happened. PUT the jumper wire to the regulator, still nothing. Tried to find a 12v wall wart and all I could find was the 9v for my soldering iron. WHEN I hooked it up to that I got a very slight flicker (completely off to dark grey back to off)
Is my screen just toast out of the box or do I need to hook It up to an av output for it to work?

Yep, that did it! Thank you!Zero wrote:It requires a video signal to work.
Side note, does everyone else's screen look like total butt. I know its 240x320 res but even so, the picture isn't very crisp. Can this be fixed in video settings or is this just the nature of composite video?

That's just how composite is at that resolution. You can improve it a bit by increasing text sizes for the command line and RetroPie fonts. There's a guide on the forum somewhere.

I'd also like to know about increasing the text. Everything is completely manageable except for reading game titles in the rom lists

I haven't done this yet myself, but this was in my bookmarks:
