Wanting to jump a head a bit. Can anyone link a good guide on connecting the teensy board to the pi0?

I am wondering if I need to resolder the micro USB and connect it to the pi0?

Thanks for the help guys, maybe someone else would like to know to. Didn't see any posts about this yet.

I believe there are pads for soldering at the back of the pi0, not sure though

If you look at the back of the Pi0, you'll see pads on the USB port (not the one that is just for power). PP22 and PP23. Those will get wired up to the green/white wires on your usb hub. Then, one of those USB hub ports will get wired up to the back of the Teensy (the Teensy has some pads on the back of it, D- and D+, which we'll use so you don't need a bulky USB connector in there).

Hope this helps!

Hmmm... I think I will wait for the video wermy. I did not realize it would get wired to the USB hub. Did not want to tackle that yet.

I purchased the amazon basics usb hub if anyone is interested in what it looks like:

This is what I gather:
Cable C. and D. will get wired up to the pi0 pads on the back.

What do I do with cables A. B. and E. wermy or 1461748123?

E will go to 5v on your powerboost, B will go to ground. Not sure about A - is it just the shielding that's around the other wires in the USB cable? If so it may just be connected to ground as well - you can check with a multimeter.

Here is another pic of the cables. I am assuming that A. is just a shielding cable. It is different than the rest of the cables.

Also, can I de-solder one of the USB ports so i can move it to the "EXT. CONNECTOR" we moded on the case so I can have a port available form the case?

Yeah you can probably just ignore the shielding connection.

And yes desoldering the ports is the way to go, for sure. I'd leave one on there, though, as it's nice to have at least one internally that you can swap out peripherals on (on mine for example I can swap the bluetooth for wifi if I want).

Holy crap... I am at 400 on my soldering iron and these USB ports are not coming off. I will try again later. Any tips?

Flux ;)
You can also try to add fresh solder on the older one.
