Okay guys. I'm drawing a blank. This isn't my first build with a pi3 and @helders AIO but for some reason I can't get the pi3 to recognize the controller. Tried it with a zero and no problem. Tried two different pi3's and neither will recognize it. Power to the board being supplied by the power strip. White goes to pp42 and green to pp43. Tried reversing them just in case and still nothing. What am I missing???

Just tried another brand new pi3 and it works like a charm so I must have messed something up when desoldering the first two.

Okay thought I had this figured out but now it's not recognizing it again. Anybody got any ideas? Tried another new pi 3 and nothing when wired to the pads. When I plug a USB into the port it recognized the keyboard. I'm lost here. Lol any help out there would be awesome!

Have you twisted the data wires?
I´m also using Helders AIO with a Pi3.

I just soldered the data wires to the Pi without twisting and it didn´t recognize a gamepad.
After that I desoldered the cables, twisted them and the Pi recognized it.

Great advice but I have already diagnosed it with him, seems he damaged the Pi's while removing the USB sockets. I suggested some proper tools which will make this in the future much simple and easier and not damage the Pi.

This did actually help me too fyi! Thanks for the suggestion. Ive done many many of these builds and on only two of them have i had to twist the wires. Weird but yes my pi's were damaged due to some bad desoldering techniques lol.
