Mounting Screen circuit board

I've looked on the forum and haven't seen this specific problem.

So I followed wermy's original guide with the adafruit screen. It worked fine initially and I mounted the screen but when I moved on and got to the point where I mount the board for the screen all I got was a white screen.

I checked my micro SD card, wire connections and I've come to the conclusion that I might have damaged the ribbon cable. If I pull and/or position the ribbon in certain ways I can get an actual picture of emulation station etc.

In following wermy's guide I assumed you have to sort of folder over the ribbon to place it how he did. Is that wrong? I'm assuming I did it wrong since I'm getting this issue. Can anyone show me how they positioned the ribbon cable?

I'm still going to try to get this screen to work before getting another one

I can remember somewhere in a guide wermy was talking about trying the blue if the yellow cabler doesn't work.
Need to be confirmed.

put electrical tape on the back of the board before you glue it down

Yeah I covered the board again with electrical tape even covered the back of the screen with electrical tape, still just a white screen. The weird thing is I can kind of see flickering when i click the buttons to adjust the brightness etc.

I attached some pictures if anyone can help. I think it might have messed up the ribbon because at first my wires from the button pcb to the teensy were a little short and were pushing against the ribbon cable, its hard to see in the picture but looks like the ribbon might have gotten messed up on the right side right before the solid part of the ribbon cable

Ignore this, I tore my ribbon cable right where it connects to the board

It was my first handheld. I remember playing Pokemon Blue version with all my friends as a kid lol. I didn't have many other Game Boy games, but Pokemon was enough for me. What about you?
