No audio out

I'm following the wiring 3.0 guide.
I'm using the original speaker and headphone jack. I'm using this volume wheel with 12ohm resistors

Not getting audio out to the speaker (hadn't tested headphones).

Here's a pic. Not sure what in getting wrong. I've tried turning volume both ways. Do I need to add code to config or anything? I set in retropi for auto for audio

Depending on if you use GPIO 18 and/or 13. You need to write a line of code into the config file.
