Trasnferring roms via GBZ USB

So while building my GBZ I transferred roms to my SD card for testing purposes.

I did this using the micro USB port on the Pi using an adapter.

I pre-configured my USB stick formatting FAT32 as per normal and creating a folder on the root called 'retropie'.

This worked fine and the Pi created the relevant folders on the stick.

My build is now complete and ive attempted to load more roms on via the USB port on my GBZ but this doesn't work.

The Pi will not pull any new roms.

This USB port works fine with gamepads, keyboards, Bluetooth keyboards etc so confident its working OK.

Have re-formatted the same memory stick FAT32 and re-created a 'retropie' folder.

When I put the USB stick in, it flashes as normal for a few seconds then stops. When I put this back into my computer no additional folders have been created. Ive also tried other USB sticks.

Any ideas?

Havent re-tested plugging directly into the Pi's micro USB again but assumed this should work as above?? :?:

Help appreciated.

Just noted that @144TECH has advised changing to USB1.1 - will give that a go.

I forget the exact terminology, but you also might try going into the retro pie setup and you have to choose the first option (expand disk space)... this basically tells the computer to use more than 4gb. I ran into a similar problem because I forgot to do this.

Nice one thanks, will give it a try. I know what you're referring to - I just assumed that on the latest image releases it did this automatically as opposed to it being manual but will check later and report back.

I now have WiFi working so not as important but i'd like to get it working if possible!

Big round of applause to @Marklikewhoa

This worked perfectly and populated my USB with all the folders.

Legend mate thanks for the tip!
