Can I use the link port for my USB?

Is there anything wrong with using the original link port instead of a USB breakout board? Figured it would look a bit more authentic anyway.

The less I have to modify the better, at least I feel like

I mean, you could do that. But in order to use any accessories you would have to make an adapter, and that is just an extra unnecessary thing to do. It would be very cool though.

The pinout doesn't look too complicated, just have to be sure which pin goes where (for data, power, etc)

Will have to look into it a bit further once I get all my parts
