Gameboy Zero - Pocket Edition

First off, hello everyone!
Long time follower, first time poster.

I'd like to introduce a resurrected project of mine, the Gameboy Pocket PCB based on AVR chip sets, my old PCB design has been referred to many times and felt it was worth an update

Here is my current GitHub repo: https://github.com/32teeth/GameboyZeroPocket

When you have a chance, check out the source, it's under OSH License, so use as you see fit

Thanks
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Are you planning on getting a batch of these made? I know lots of folks have wanted to make a GBP version of the GBZ. :)

Also, welcome!

What screen size are you going for?
I have wanted to do one of these but either the screens are too big or two small, not yet seen anything that fits almost perfect.

Thanks for the welcome
Gameboy Zero - Pocket Edition (whats next)

So, in addition to other AVR projects (http://moledcule.club), i am planning on creating a Chrome App that you can reprogram (compile and flash) the 32u4 on the GBZP

Next i will be releasing the code for it

If you guys have time, check out the GitHub and let me know your thoughts. I will most likely do a short run of assembled boards. And if there is interest i'll make more

Thanks again for the welcome!

Updates
Gameboy Zero - Pocket Edition

Hey All

Wanted to let you know, from some of the PM feedback (thank you)
I have updated the pin mapping to match that of @oxadao github repo https://github.com/oxodao/GBZGamePad
This was done for consistency

Additionally, there are now 4 additional button breakouts (L1,L2,R1,R2) they are labelled on the PCB
  • L1 = J2 Breakout
    L2 = J4 Breakout
    R1 = J5 Breakout
    R2 = J6 Breakout
