Button height

My X and Y butttons aren't quite as high as the A B buttons. Still functional but a small thing that might bother me down the road if there's an easy fix to raise them before I get too far ahead.

I haven't tried anything yet but maybe wermys button wells upside down? I've seen others on the show off forum that look really good. I've used authentic RGBY SNES buttons.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Can they not go higher because of the wells or do they sit low but if you pull them up there is some play? If there is some play then you can put something small inside the button to make them higher. Something thin enough to prop them up ( I cut a small piece of silicone from an old contact pad) but not too thick or buttons won't feel right. :D

I had that issue on my one gbz, I used after market black buttons. Anyway, I had thin "plasti-card" stock, I don't remember the thickness offhand. I cut out a small shim of it and stuck it inside the button, so it sits between the button and the membrane. You can play with different material for different thicknesses. On my personal gbz, I used it on my back buttons, they were the purple-ish buttons that came with the case I bought. But I cut some for my front buttons, out of a broken super famicom controller just assuming it would help, and they sat up too high, I couldn't use the shim.
So just a small circle of material, and try out different thicknesses and see what feels right, and you should be able to gauge the feel by just holding your pcb inside the front half of the case, shouldn't even have to screw it back together.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a go tonight and see what happens. I don't recall any loose play in the buttons but I want looking for that either. We'll see.
