Is the audio filter necessary?

Post by SamuraiCoder » Thu Jun 08, 2017 4:19 pm

Hi guys,

Totally beginner building the gbzero. I´m in the part I´m building the audio part. I have the adafruit 2.5w amp connected to the jack, power and two cables. I don´t know where that two cables go.

I saw Wermy built an amplifier. Is there any recomendation AIO to get this one? or any webpage in europe I can get the components? I bought GameBoy Zero PWM Audio Bufffer but it comes "empty" and the Merlin04 board but I need components for that.

Cheers.

I couldn't tell a difference with or without it in my builds. I'd say try without, if you're not happy with the quality, then add one.

As for a beginner I'd recommend waiting for an AIO to come available.

Good luck.

Here is an audio wiring with the filter from @Rodocop.

He says:
If you aren't using the filter your purple wire from the GIPO will go directly to the volume wheel. then everything else will be the same.
