It uses AMT630. Here is another image

Based on this image the board just seem to have one regulator. It just takes 12v and turns it to 3.3v. Can i see closeup picture of your board's regulator so i can check the datasheet?

The regulator is config based. ie resistors and capacitors connected decide the output voltage. I think it is "a5269". BTW your board has a single step regulator. The second one is a EEPROM and not a regulator. If you supply too much voltage to that you will damage it beyond repair. If you have a multimeter, connect 12 v and check voltages on all major points. some of them ought to be 3.3v or 5v

Also the point you have soldered is output pin. I have checked

That is not the one on my board. Its 1117H. As i said mine have 2 regulators. Already checked their datasheet.

I tested a 3.3v power supply directly connected to the 3.3v output and screen works fine but as i suspected the chip amt630 still gets hot and still consume the same current.

Ok my bad. Clearly the IC does not follow standard DPAK pin layout. If Your screen is working properly for both 5v (on pin 3) and 3.3v (on pin 2) on 3.3Regulator and your AMT is still getting hot, try removing the PCB from the screen and post photos of PBC front and back and your raspberry pi.

When you say hot, how hot does it get? Can you keep a finger on it for long time without burning your finger?

So this is the screen I have had. I actually had mine working for a few months and now I get no output. I have 2 others that I tested and they were working. I had them all hooked up to my Pi's and 2 months later none of them work. It is like a need a to have a full moon or something.

I have them wired up using an old RCA cable and the ground is grounded to the pi video ground and to the ground on the screen pcb.

Can you show the pi and board in a single image with better lighting?

I'm just starting my GBZ project and picked up this same V8 screen, should I expect problems? Have you found solutions to this problem?

Would love to hear from others with this same display.
