battery connector help

Post by spofy » Sat Jul 08, 2017 4:08 am

hey,

so i saw how the battery was done in this post http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2729 and i thought it was pretty edgy so i ordered similar parts; now they've arrived and i'm thinking ahead a bit; I'm not quite sure which way round i would have to put the connector (gold side up or black side up?) (see pictures) and I don't really know where i would solder the wires haha

can someone help me please? :)

The springy side are the battery contacts (as you have it in your first pic) and the reverse side is what you solder your wires to. They are meant for surface mounting to PCB's but there's no reason not to solder lead wires (you only need 2, the ones marked (+) and (-). The other 2 are for monitoring by the phone that we're not doing) to the relevant pins then just glue the whole lot in place.
The orientation doesn't matter (as per your last 2 pics) just whatever fits your build.

I used exactly this on my latest build mate.
It doesn't matter what way round it goes but what does matter is wiring your 5v and Gnd wires to the right pins which then make contact with battery 😎

Usually each battery indicates '+' and '-'

Let me know if you get stuck 👍🏼
