Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I've seen an up-to date parts and kit list for a Game Boy Zero so I thought I would share mine and hopefully help out a few newcomers along the way.

I see a lot of questions daily such as:

'What USB hub should I use?'
'What should I use for sound?'
'What battery is the easiest to use?'
...etc

I've also seen people refer to Wermys original videos, mention ferrite beads etc. and generally seem confused about how to get going or if some of the original (and totally awesome ) guides are still valid.

So why not try and answer these in once place?

There are a fair few variations possible in order to achieve a completed build and having had experience with a few of these variations (AIO boards, PWM audio, Powerboost / generic PSU etc) I have finally settled on my build preference and 'standard' parts list. Shout out to Veteran Gamer and Jermzz here - both these guys produce really top notch build work and have inspired me in recent months with my own builds

I've also honed in on the exact tools I need to complete one of these so I'll share these too.

Nothing is going to be revolutionary if you've been in the community for a while but that said, hopefully it will help a few of you who aren't too sure on a particular element, perhaps.

I'm not saying this is the best way to build a GBZ, but it's certainly what I would say is achievable and non-reliant on AIO boards or parts that are difficult to acquire. These parts are fairly easy to acquire and quantities are not in short supply.

In my opinion, Kites SAIO / CSO are the best options for the ultimate Game Boy Zero - these rely on his amazing AIO boards however which as as you will most likely know are only offered for sale in batches (Be sure to sign up for notifications on the next pre-order) and so are not readily available all the time.

My build count for Game Boy Zeros is currently up around 16 and I'd estimate that the last 7 I've built have included everything I'm about to list.

Lovely build, luckily you use a near identical button PCB to one I have lying around! Cant wait for the wiring diagram.

What do you use to hold up the headphone jack? Just glue or a bracket of some sort?

I'm very stupid with electronics and even with this amazing list I'm unable to put them together. Do you guys have any schematics for cabling, soldering, etc?
