Do I really need button wells?
I'm building a Gaboze Pocaio, and I do have access to a community 3d printer, but It's only open 2 hours a day 3 days a week. Do I really need button wells? In the guide on the Gaboze Pocaio github page, he just super glues them on the silicone pads. Also, I'm using snes buttons on the front and the Game Boy Pocket buttons on the back. Has anyone made button wells for Game Boy Pocket buttons? I'm not experienced with CAD and don't know how to make them on my own.

I did a rough set for the XY buttons in a recent build. You need to trim a little off the bottom of one of the wells because of the plastic lip above the X button. Otherwise, they work pretty well and made those buttons feel a lot better.
Here's the STL link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ibkUf ... NNuqW5YjLb
EDIT: If you use them for the back, you shouldn't have to trim them. Just cut it into two separate wells.

Trufully, you can probably get away without it. I like them because the button feel more secure and don't wiggle around as much. But as long as the pads put adequate pressure on the buttons, you shouldn't have any issue with them popping out of place

You can put a dab of super glue on the membrane to stop the buttons from spinning.

Re: Do I really need button wells?
i never use button wells, i find cutting a piece off the end of a hot glue stick around 1mm and place that inside the button is enough to stop it wriggling around and gives a good contact
