I have also ordered the alternative powerboost.

I am going to solder wires on the pads with the right connector to plug the lipo in. That way the lipo will be easy to remove.
On the pads ill also add wires that go to this:
3.7V Li-Ion Battery Level Indicator
http://s.aliexpress.com/mQnMnyi6

Ill add a switch inbetween the positive leads, so if i push the button, the leds light up.

The pcb is really small

And this Battery Level Indicator works well with the alternative powerboost?

@o-prime That board will work with any 3.7v battery. There is a comparator on-board which determines which LED lights (depending on voltage). In case anyone is interested, my Safe Shutdown Switch for the alternative BangGood power supply will also include some low voltage circuitry to enable this feature.

@Camble Nice! Does it have anything built-in to replace the function of the missing enable pin on this power supply? The Powerboost is nice, but it usually costs about $30 when you figure in markups and shipping.

@RxBrad I'll post full specs soon, but yes. It's a soft latching switch with graceful shutdown functionality.

Works fine here!

Wiring is simple, so no idea what's wrong?

Can you post how you wired it up?

Hi hope this helps I can't really see what pad you put the red wire to on the pi from your power boots. I would just double check it looks to me the the red wire on pp1 gos straight to the lcd driver board I would move this to the gpio pins +5v and just have the power boots red wire solded there.(pp1). Or make a power strip just to save all the wires being so close together and makes it easier to track back.
