Does anyone know of a good alternative stereo headphone jack to use in a GBZ project?

I had picked up one of these but was not sure how to wire it in order for it to have stereo sound and a cutoff switch for the speaker when headphones are plugged in.

Thanks!

Just put in a cable and see which are connected then. Those are your cut-off wires. When you remove the jack you will see the passthrough to the speaker wires get connected (which are disconnected when you have the jack inside). The one left (always connected) is the ground.

I don't have a better way for this particular one. Sorry :)

Awesome! I looked on RadioShack's website and didn't see this diagram. This is very helpful!

So, another question is then, with only one speaker, would you just connect the L speaker and R speaker output pins together before sending it to the speaker so you're not just receiving only the one channel's sound?

I don't know why they didn't put a spec sheet up for it, So simple

Never connect the channels together, You'll blow the amp. Just wire it to the Left channel output

This circuit confuses me slightly, there isn't any amplification on the headphone jack, if you put some earbuds in you'll get "Line Level" audio, a bit like connecting earbuds to the Red and White jacks on a DVD player.

Try this wiring instead, The blue wire is optional it, just passes the L audio to the R earbud
