You don't need one, get rid of the jumper and run it straight off 5v

I have soldered it to the usb and video pads on the raspberry pi 3 and the screen won't come on at all.after soldering on the pi it won't turn on by usb. It can only be powered by the GPIO Pins

You do not need a 5V mod for this screen, follow the wiring guide here to test if the screen actually works, ensure that the ribbon cable is fully seated, and also be sure you have an SD card with an image on it, otherwise the screen will not show anything.

ah, disregard my link, I realize now that you have a pi3, so it will use different solder points.

I have this screen also. I read some where about still performing the mod due to the voltage chip still using power even though it doesnt have to drop the power, and it affecting the power available to screen and consumption etc.

This screen doesn't need a 5v mod, where is everyone getting this info that it does from?

People have been using these screens absolutely fine for ages without the mod but each to their own i guess.
