USB port in GearBest display

Hello everybody.
I've just received my new screen and looking at the controller board I found that it has some kind of micro USB port slot. Can someone checked if it's true. If so, it might be possible to use it as the 5V power source instead of modding it.

Anyway, does anybode know how to place this screen in order to avoid breaking the ribbon?

I just placed mine where it fell. It's a really small controller board so it's nice. I had to push it over ever so slightly to be able to fit the pi in on the right side, but only a quarter inch or so. Tacked the corners down with glue. I was able to fit the teensey to the left of the controller board rather than up top. it was good cause the teensey was hitting the power boost at the top. Couldn't seem to get them flat enough for the case to close so it worked out well. I think part of the problem is I used the 3D printed screw bracket wermy designed and it's a little thicker than the piece of metal in wermy's turorial.
Edit: never mind I read your post wrong about the USB port.

If it is for micro USB, the outside pads will be for power. You could test continuity between those pads and the appropriate pins on the chip (the one at the top left in your picture).
I have the same screen, so I'll check mine when I get home tonight.

I would guess that is to have the connector for the control screen board. As it is you cant change the contrast or brightness.

If you look for the LCD coonector, it have arround 20 pins soldered each other. Anyone know why?

Quite possibly. My first guess too, but it does look a lot like Micro USB pads. However, there are no mounting holes and while the first pin is ground, the pin I would expect to be 5v does not seem to be. The 2nd and 3rd pins lead to pins 4 and 3 on the closest 8pin chip. I'm assuming this is what handles the control inputs.

I've received mine yesterday, also with the pins soldered together;
haven't tested the screen yet.

same as mine, it will need the 5v mod. I think the solder pads on the top right of your last picture are for the buttons as I have seen another version with the same board having the JST plug for controller buttons in that space.
Here's mine with the 5v mod:

Did you desolder the complete chip in your mod? I thought it will be enough to just solder the cable from vcc to the pin on the chip as in this picture from the wiki;

Had a solder skill fail and joined two of the legs together while modding the ic.
Trying to wick it with copper, knocked off the first of the three blocks at the edge of the ic. Bare pad showing and the ic legs are all over. Am i toast? Can I salvage by pulling the ic completely?
