The screen is working off 5v, I had to solder the single wire as per below, My solder job isn't my best work but its working:
I did make a bad decision of fitting the screen before drilling my extra buttons and the drill grabbed the ribbon and damaged the back lit. Just waiting on another one to be delivered.

Here are some ebay links for the screen

Thanks for the reply :)

Damn, that sucks! The extra wire is not a big deal i guess. How long did you have to wait last time for the screen to arrive?

I'm currently in China so I hope that will take some time off the delivery lol

Delivery only took 5 Business days from the Aust seller which suited me! You should be all set then.

do you have a link where you got your multi colored wire spool? and is it thick enough for the power to the usb and pi?

I have the same lcd screen. Good screen but, I wished it had brightness control. Sometimes I find it to bright at night and it would help with battery battery life.

I just got that from my local supplier, its just breadboard jumper wire with the ends cut off:

Yeah probably a bit too thick actually especially for the SD card and Teency

Yeah I agree on the brightness, but for the price of the screen it isnt too bad. I am pretty happy with mine, i do need to scale the resolution back to make the fonts a bit easier to read.

I did that and the game list is readable now and changed the color to be even more readable.

Some updates, I have had such a hard time trying to get this thing to close, I have re-shuffled and moved components around like crazy trying to get the case to close.

My top case mounts keep breaking even though I am using epoxy to glue them. I just got a friend of a friend to 3D print wermy's brackets so that should help.

Its very much a work in progress at the moment. I had issues with the USB hub as well and that is damaged beyond repair.

I also scaled the screen down to 320x240 and also altered the carbon retropie skin font size which is so much better to read the rom list now. Also I setup GBA emulator by adding the bios and mucked with the controls, seems to be working now.

Issues:
No USB hub atm
If you put pressure on the screen the screen turns off
L rear button not working (R is ok)
Case needs the bracket for the top to close correctly.
