Got Camble's safe shutdown PCB today so went ahead and installed it, also installed a piece of 3mm fibre optic in the bottom to act as the charging LED, the safe shutdown script should take care of low battery notification but will work on installing another piece of fibre optic cable if needed.

As soon as the AIO arrives I can finish up and get playing :D

Would you mind posting a picture of low battery when you get a chance? Also can I a link of where to buy the fibre optic? I'm guessing it wires directly from the safe shutdown pcb.

I'm interested in the fibre optic too. I have one of these on order so would be nice to have all four coming out the side.

Edit: thinking about it I have some old sfp cables in a drawer somewhere that are probably thick enough.

You can get fibre optics off a spool from ebay for about £2 for a few metres worth around 1mm diameter. The thicker it is the higher the price seems to be. Going to try some in my latest build as it seems like a good idea, saves extending or moving leds around. Need to try and plan the use carefully as you can't bend it too much. I saw a video online showing someone using hot glue to diffuse the light which looked like an interesting technique to try.

Link here if anyone wants to see it:

I'm sure someone can come up with a creative use for it.

Can't picture low battery as I haven't finished yet, I took my GBZ apart ready for when the AIO turns up :?

I purchased this fibre optic cable:

I actually bought the wrong one as it was bigger than I wanted so I couldn't bend it up to the contrast port but heres a pic of the inside of the battery compartment with it in place:

[spoiler="pic"]I put it side on between the 2 leds so it picked up light from both (yes it's a mess but it works ;) )
