I haven't started my project yet as there's been interesting developments whilst I've been hanging on for Helder's latest AIO board. I think I'll probably end up trying to build a couple, one RPZero based and one RP3 Based.

So i received Helders AIO board yesterday and was so excited, that i spent most of the day working on the gameboy! I can't finish it yet, as i'm still waiting on Cambles safe shutdown and new speakers (as the old were too big to fit).

I bought some Kafuter 704 silicone rubber for my permanent adhesion. It will hopefully keep better than hot glue.

I mounted my DS-lite cartridge, external USB, and an internal USB accessible from the battery compartment, as well as a JST-connector accessible from the battery compartment.

I made some L1 and R1 buttons.

I hooked it all up, but my screen is flickering. Can someone check if i messed up some wiring? I'll try testing the screen by itself tomorrow. Hopefully i haven't damaged anything

Also, i am running out of space. I can't get the case closed. I'll change the wires from the 5v input to a thinner gauge and do some cable management. But it's a tight fit. Now i understand why people insist on removing the battery compartment.

Looking good. I'm at about the same stage with mine which is the same screen/AIO combo. Have you had any luck getting it together? I can't find a spot for the Pi because of the display board placement.

I have the exact same problem. I ended up glueing the pi in place atop the DS-lite cartridge (see below). I can now access the mHDMI from the battery compartment and moved the second USB up to the contrast port. I've had it closed, but it is a tight fit. I might have to move the wires from the DS-lite cartridge a bit. They are the biggest interference atm.

Right now i am stuck. I can't get the 2xUSB or the buttons on front to work in retropie. I just get the "No gamepad detected" error . I've tried resoldering almost all wires. Any ideas what could be wrong? Maybe i should use thicker gauge wires for the data? And what are the "VVC" and "JP2" soldering holes on the AIO board? Should i use these for something?

Update: I've installed ipad speakers (which i can't test out yet ) and i've ordered Kite's new Super AIO

Also, i didn't update my PayPal address when i ordered Camble's safe shutdown switch (rookie mistake). So this build will likely be without this.

Are your USB data wires on the Pi shorting on each other? It's hard to tell from the pics but they look awfully close.

They shouldn't be. I've tried resoldering them several times. I've even changed the cables once as well.
