Things I use:
- ePath 3,5 composite screen by now, (think it's ver. 7) *cause my 640480 screen has to come.
- Raspberry Zero
- Adafruit 2500maH battery
- Adafruit powerboost 1000
- Usb Audio
- 2.5w Adafruit audio amp
- Pololu 12v micro stepup (for the screen) * didn't have for sure if you get better performance through 12v over 5v
- Funsparks MicroUsb breakout board
- Teensy LC
- 4 Usb hub (those with four cables hanging, small pcb easy to use)
- Disassembled MiniHdmi to HDMI adapter
- Mini metal speaker
- DMG+ common ground board from KitschBend

First step, cutting screen bezel (I'm gonna use the original epath screen protector).

Next, Cutting button holes and adding support for them (had a hard time with those, as i used plastic from a NES chinese knockoff and it was like butter..., so a lot of hot glue comes).
I had to dremel it a bit later for adding the screen in the correct position (for not having to add rotation to the config

Ok, let's add the battery. Don't know yet if it was the best place to put it (it's quite long, but could be thicker and wider for a better fit) but it's looking good from the outside.

Ok, I wanted just to see how controls look like and feel, and there comes the worst part... i ruined the case a bit by screwing too tight... (second time i do that!!!! Damn! , first time i ruined my original DMG case, so it was worse)

Ok, small shoulder buttons by now, i prefer discrete looking over big buttons there (don't know if i'll use them too much).

Now, Screen mounted and teensy wired to the dmg+ common ground board (it's an easy&clean job with those pcbs)
I used 30awg wrapping cable.

Next, trying screen with a DVD player. screen looks awful! lots of noise... and sometimes loses signal, maybe the cables? (i tried it with the worst RCA cables i could find)

At first, i though i'd put the raspberry just to get the minihdmi out, but i liked the idea of getting full HDMI out, so i disassembled the adaptor and glued it to the case. Notice i can access to microSD card from the cart slot! this way i'll just make a cart cover, not that cool thing with the cart slot and game pcb, i'll leave that for another build.

This is the USB hub i use (disassembled)

Ok, don't know what happened here, skipped some steps without making any photo:
Dissassembled USB audio board (had to take some capacitors out and soldering them at the other side of the board) and put it just where the headphones jack would go. The audio amp will go just next to it, but don't know yet how to solder it...
You can also see there I placed a microUsb breakout board but maybe it's better to put it elsewhere.

I just don't know yet where to place the teensy and the powerboost!
Still have to wire a lot of things...
I'll finish it off in a couple days when i have some time to spare! will report back! i'll be glad to recieve some feedback and advice!
