My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
Very nice! I'm working on mine this weekend. I have 2 questions for you:
1- What did you do to 'fix' the short Mode Button?
2- How did you secure the corner board with that button and the power? My dry fit last night looked like it was floating in the corner.
I'll second the ides for a CM3 area! I have questions specific to this build and would love to have a place for us all to share what we are learning about this build and show off our creations!

1- Nothing to fix, the mode button length is perfect if you locate it the right way.
2- Gorilla Epoxi.
My advice is to do it as stock as possible, as minimalistic as possible.
I’m very very very happy with this, and people I show the build love it as much as I do.
The screen is great, the sound, the Retropie, etc
Kite is a fuckin genius.
I am a genius fucking.

Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
I have installed R1 to activate Analog Stick and to play GameWatch!
I did it with a simple tactile button located on one of the rear bolt/screw holes.
Can you see it?
Amazing!
I love this build.

Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
I like that position. I’m REALLY torn on where I want back buttons and what type.
I hate to ask, but can you post a pic of that corner board from the inside? I can’t seem to get positioning to get the position where the power button aligns in the original slider without rubbing and the mode button is even a little bit workable

Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
I show you some pics from other build that you can appreciate , as I did the same process.
I used Dremel with the header of the pic below to make holes, and "eat material" and neaten up.
I did the X and Y with that tool. This header has the same size of the DMG-01 buttons LOL!
Back R1 tactile I used that Dremel header to "eat material" from the bolt/screw room, till the tactile button got in it.
Be carefull there are different length tactiles, I used a medium lengthone.
Be also careful with this,
When the hole for the tactile button is made:
First solder cables,
Second, insert it and use hot glue or epoxi with knowledge, as you can fail if you block the button mechanism with the glue.
It is quite easy although.
I think tactile back buttons is easier, faster, cheaper, and more stock!

Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
The shape of the corner board is evident, it is like a puzzle, you put it the right way, the only one possible, and then you add Gorilla Epoxi or hot glue!zerogeek wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 3:03 pmI like that position. I’m REALLY torn on where I want back buttons and what type.

An advice is that the original ON/OFF button must be inserted both in the upper side of the corner board and in the case/housing space designed for it.
Once the ON/OFF plastic is inserted both in the upper side of the corner board and in his space/area of the case/housing,you must assure the mode button is attached and centered into his respective hole.
Then use Epoxi or hot glue to fix it to the position and wait to dry, better Epoxi.
When Epoxi dries it gets as hard as the case/housing, and the corner board is fixed.
You can’t fail!

Re: My Kites Circuit Sword “KITANA” build
Is that a GB Color Cartridge? Did you just modify the power switch to enable it to work?
