[Ordering Parts] Murpho's Gameboy Zero (Murphboy zero)
[Ordering Parts] Murpho's Gameboy Zero (Murphboy zero)
First off this is my first project of this sort and figured if I made this post and bought some of the parts it would force me to complete the entire thing. I'll keep this first updated with pictures and my most recent additions as well as a parts list with links. Being a full time student with a part time job and a girlfriend (my full time job) this may take a while. Hoping it doesn't go over 2 months.
For the most part I want to be able to take it on the go and play it as well as be able to set it down and plug it into power, a tv, and attach a few controllers for it to function as a emulation console as well.
Up and Running 8/8/16 no pictures
Flashed RetroPie onto an 32 GB class 4 Kingston Micro SD card. Got it up and running just to make sure everything was working correctly.
Parts: (links once I understand BBCode so that I don't clutter this first post)
Raspberry Pi Zero with Adaptors from Pimorini - Got It!
DMG-01 Housing Shell (Black) - Got It!
Gear best 3.5 Inch TFT LCD - Got It!
USB Micro-B Breakout - Got It!
Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 2500mAh - Got It!
Powerboost 1000c - Got it!
Helder All-in-one Board - Got it!
All input is more than welcome and appreciated!

It's late but I took the plunge, ordered a battery, screen, case, and usb micro-b breakout board that should all be here around Friday (8/12/16/). As I ordered them I realized I needed some wire. Probably just going to scavenger some from old cables around the house; ethernet, usb, old power wires, etc.. Can't wait to get everything and start working on it.

Well the Controller board for the screen doesn't fit. Time to order a different one

Would you mind posting which Amazon seller you bought that screen from, just so people know to watch out for the big boards?

If it's EpathDeals (which was where your link took me), I got a small V7 board from them earlier this week, and have a 2nd board waiting on my doorstep. Hoping it isn't the beast you ended up with...

I got it here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045 ... 08BEB4MN2K . The seller is EPathDeals. Hope you don't end up with the mammoth that I got. Best of luck.RxBrad wrote:Would you mind posting which Amazon seller you bought that screen from, just so people know to watch out for the big boards?

I lucked out. Bought two screens from them, and both were the small V7 screen.

Congrats! I'm debating ordering another one from the same seller using prime shipping or going through gearbest and getting their lcd. Might try my luck with the amazon one seeing how I'm impatientRxBrad wrote:I lucked out. Bought two screens from them, and both were the small V7 screen.

For what it's worth, the V7s were ordered from the Prime shipping version of EPATHDEALS. Not sure if there are regional differences, but I'm in Michigan, and the displays both shipped from Columbia, SC.

payment didnt go through so I decided to buy a screen from gearbest.

All moved into my apartment for school and starting classes today, waiting on a few things to come in still
