ImageImageImageImageHow to hook up headphone imput to stereo ampImage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdRRR_de6ag
Notes: You must have internal stereo amp to take advantage of the actual stereo sound and not just stereo mix.
Also my GBZ is using PWM audio so it just amplifies all the crappy sounds as well.
My GBZ charges through a micro usb port on the bottom. (the micro usb output is at an angle, only way it would go in smoothly)
The 2.7k Ohm resistor is for the original red LED. ( I broke the lead and used a diff 3mm LED)
You cannot see it in the images but I used a piece of plastic for support under the USB micro
break out board for support.

Parts list (yes you can use way cheaper parts)

as much as i appreciate the input and applaud your efforts.... that is ugly and impractical as hell. i get really bad "early 90s unnecessary peripherals" ptsd just from looking at this. i know i sound like a dick but that is not my intention at all, but wether it is the "boosterboy" or people talking about custom manufacturing thinner backside shells for their gbz build, anything that messes with the original form factor of the dmg01 just doesnt sit right with me. call it puritanism or nostalgia bias or whatever, i want my original form factor grey brick.... nothing more, nothing less.

all that being said, this is some great work, it's just entirely not for me.

Lmao same. Not gonna say that higher battery capacity is impractical though. Reminds me of that backlight add-on we had for long car rides...

Cool stuff though. Nice to see people trying new things.

oh totally, ashen's youtube videos on dumb gb/ gba/ gbc add-ons make me giggle like a schoolgirl every time.... those huge bulky plastic messes trying so hard to be "90s cool", it's the best. but i am very glad that we left that era behind us and can build really cool stuff that does fit inside the actual dmg without the need to put a ton of poochies on the outside.

more on-topic: do you actually get an audible stereo effect with the speakers sitting that close together?

of course not ;) . I would agree the accessory on its own is pretty useless. The main reason I decided to modify it is for an extended battery life. I plan to take my GBZ on a 8+ hour flight if its allowed. I can only fit the 2000mAh battery which only allows the battery to last around 3 hours. I figured I might as well upgrade the speakers since I'm at it. Its nice being able to build in all these features but I never heard of anyone building in an extended battery =P

i would've either gone for a regular powerbank or modded one of these bad boys instead, way less clunky, more stylish and it's a first party peripheral:

i'm betting you could fit upwards of 10.000mAh in one of these and then wear it on your belt like the coolest 90s kid ever ;)

True battery pack would be cool but I had it on hand and thought I would be fun to mod.

Hell, why not? I think it sort of gives it a "nostalgic" look like that, which is kind of cool IMO :)
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to inform you that I am currently moving very far away, and therefore I am very busy.

UPDATE: I am still alive! My ISP is setting up my internet on the 19th of January at my new place, explaining my offline-ness.

If you write me a PM, I will very likely take some time to respond.

Also, my 2nd build will soon go on, so if you've been following it, please stay tuned! :)

Many thanks for your understanding!
