BMO Zero Build
When I decided that I was going to build a GBZ I knew I wanted it to be different so I decided to model mine after BMO from Adventure Time.
I couldn't quite find the perfect case so I went with this one. (Bonus, it glows in the dark) I am going to spray the inside white before I build everything in it so it is not translucent anymore and it should look pretty close.
I know I can't have the same button placement/shape using Helder's latest AIO but I am going to use red/blue/green/yellow buttons like a SNES controller and a yellow D-Pad. I also plan on using this as the splash screen when it boots up and likely put the black BMO on the sides.
Also going to try to get this as my cartridge label Other than that it is all the basic fodder that goes inside
I am very excited about this project and the wait for parts is killing me. I had ordered a different screen and when it arrived the control board for it was wider than the screen and that made it unusable as far as I could tell. I also could not get it working on 12v or 5v so I'm guessing it just doesn't work at all, however it took 3 months to arrive and I had been previously refunded by the seller for it not showing up so I wasn't too broken up about it.
I'll post my progress as it happens, for now I am just getting all my ROMS in place and named and sorted properly so I can scrape them while I wait for the rest of the parts.

Looking forward to it
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to inform you that I am currently moving very far away, and therefore I am very busy.
UPDATE: I am still alive! My ISP is setting up my internet on the 19th of January at my new place, explaining my offline-ness.
If you write me a PM, I will very likely take some time to respond.
Also, my 2nd build will soon go on, so if you've been following it, please stay tuned!
Many thanks for your understanding!

Re: BMO Zero Build
Adding these buttons from deadpanrobot.co.uk to my list. Planned on hacking up an aftermarket SNES controller for the buttons but here they are. Plus I'll get some spare parts out of it

Re: BMO Zero Build
Juan from DFRobot bumped into me on instagram before he had shipped my order. I told him what I was doing with the buttons and he said that he could make me a custom pack instead with the proper colors for Beemo. So now I have my own hand selected colors on the way.

Re: BMO Zero Build
Just got my board in the mail. Seems to have been handled in typical Postal Service fashion but no pads were lifted so I should be able to just solder it right back on. Excited to get this project going but I am still waiting on my case, screen, volume wheel and buttons.

Re: BMO Zero Build
Still waiting on my case, buttons and screen, but I thought I would start some of the soldering. It's going a lot easier than I thought it would considering the size and spacing of the pads on the Pi and the crappiness of my iron.
