Almost all of the pi3 builds I've seen require desoldering the jacks on the pi3 to reduce its height. The Ethernet and USB jacks take up a substantial amount of space. Also, for the SAIO it requires dremeling away parts of the PCB to fit.

Even if those are accomplished the board is 6 layers and the could be teeny bridges a human can't see without a microscope. Many have done this, but they are fairly experienced and willing to give up a pi or two if they do it wrong because they would like to learn.

Most people don't have those engineering skills and would like to be more safe and not ruin things and risk spending more money. Plus, this should be more battery efficient than the pi3 because it doesn't have all the extra stuff happening, only the processing power.

There will be soldering, but it will only be a few wires and not much more than you'd have to to complete any other build.
hmmm... that's good points.
Will your board be expensive? does cm3 have wifi and BLE?

There will be an option of WiFi per special request direct from @Helder. I've reserved space on my board to complement his AIO board needs. I don't plan on including Bluetooth because I don't see any significant benefit of the feature for an emulator handheld. Perhaps on a later build if I see a benefit but this board is nearly complete.

The price has not settled yet. I'm still working out components and manufacturing.

yes, that difference its noticable, but the CM3 needs the Inches's board to work.

So far the Pros of this board are:
- No soldering, or almost nothing;
- Looks cleaner;
- A bit of power consupition optimisation;
- Win a little more space, Width and lenght, we can consider height too, but when we go with a RPI3 must problably plan to remove USB's and Ethernet jacks and GPIO header;
- Talking about removing things, that means that this board saves you from a lot of work.

Correct me if im wrong on my points.

lets see the final price :)

Yes, the linear ones are for this first build. I would need too many more iterations for this one to fit my schedule goals for releasing it if I were to implement that.

I need to pin down power solutions and safe shutdown for my next board that will be less of an adapter and more self sufficient. There I plan to have switching regulators.

I was looking into your shutdown solutions. I didn't know if the first one would work equally as well on 3v. And the second one you have posted still seems to be in the works, ya?

If I do a CM3 version of my project I'll use something along the lines of the PAM2306 for the switching.

Both on/off circuits work fine down to 2.5v. I integrate the improved version onto every all-in-one.

I'm planning on the standard pi PAM2306 power setup too. I'm going to make a breakout board of my own just to ensure I can properly replicate it.

It is. I use it to switch the EN pin on the boost converter on and off instead of switching 5v on and off though. That way no power is being pulled from the battery when the system is powered off. I'm also updating the guide a little, since a few others have attempted to integrate it onto their boards and had some difficulty.
