Very nice build! I like the charging port like the original.

What screen are you using?
The adafruit screen from Wermy's original guide.

I ordered the current amazon reverse lcd and got v7 off the wiki and didnt have to deal with any weird glue it just unscrewed. Its got 3 buttons on the back just like the adafruit so couldnt see the point in paying the extra money.

I was hoping in 2017 that I'd be able to get a true 640x480 screen without paying through the nose.
I have the same BW screens. Both have AMT630 video chips that get so hot. The LCDs also get hot.
New! tinkerBOY PowerSwitch v1.0 with Safe Shutdown
Game Boy Zero Controllers available @ tinkerBOY.xyz * Support
tinkerBOY Controller v3.0 - built-in usb controller, usb audio, and usb hub
tinkerBOY Controller v2.0 - GPIO buttons and builtin PWM Audio and Amplifier
tinkerBOY Controller v1.1 - simple pcb button
* DPI Adapter - better display for GBZ
* keyboard converters - IBM XT/AT Soarer's Converter | ADB to USB Converter

I think everyone's read about how text is an issue on these 240p screens but dont seem to realise the emulated games are pretty much all rendered at 240p. My issue with the current screens being used is how bad composite video can be when we are dealing with such low resolution screens specifically compression at the pixel level and the lack of RGB.
If you're unaware of composite and RGB issues with retro consoles you should really check out the RGB master class the information is spot on and I really appreciate the production that goes into the videos from mylifeingaming

The info does seem to be out there but not on the wiki and by the time I get to properly start researching this stuff it's past midnight, this is a long thread so I wont be reading through it tonight but there does seem to be some interesting posts about the bw screens.

I'll probably research this more when I actually finish building my first zero but for now I'll stick with my 320x240 screen.

Jostie94, do you have any more info on how you did the status LEDs? What size LEDs did you use / where did you source them from?

I'm currently deep in research mode on these status lights...

Thanks,
David
