If you set up the screen like this there's no way to put an external hdmi port to connect to a tv also, right? It seems like a clean way to set up an hdmi screen and gets me thinking about it but I also wanted to put an external hdmi port on mine so I could connect to a tv and play also.

I don't know much about any of this yet but I've been stalking just about every post the past few weeks to try and gain the knowledge and courage to attempt my first gbz since I finished my mintypi build.
If you want the hdmi port for external use then just use a composite display.

Well I wanted to attempt to have an hdmi screen but I also wanted the option of plugging it into a tv and using actual controllers to play if I ever wanted to.

Very nice! Im think of getting the same hdmi display for my build as well. Anyhow on how to power the display? I will using powerboost and usb breakout board. Am totally new to this as well with no soldering experience. Thank you!

Hi Zeroboy,

can you give me a estimation about your play time with the 2500mAh battery?
I tested a HDMI screen in: http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=4242
and it has way too much power consumption for a small battery.

greetings

2.5 - 3 hours of playtime. The hdmi screen i used seems to use less power than my composite screen. Everything is directly powered by the battery except for the screen which needs 5v power from the boost module.
