@Kite

I have always charged the battery with device shut off.
I’m gonna dig this python script to make a safe shutdown and/or advertise a big red alert for ongoing low battery :mrgreen:

This will be my contribution for your help here :D

Please do! You'll see in the python that there are already functions to show a PNG or maybe a video as overlay already. Although you'll need to change the path of 'pngview' to something like "/home/pi/Super-AIO/release/tester/pngview".

Ideally it needs to follow the same ability as the shutdown, where it can load it from config-saio.txt if overridden (e.g. "I don't want it to shut itself down").. the code is all there :)

Ok, i will. I was thinking also to add some variants to your on screen battery percentage display... the green/red isn’t talking enough... i was thinking something like 100-65% green, 64-20% orange, 19% and less, red, with a warning message at 10%, maybe fixed, on top of everything lol...

You'll struggle with the battery colour because the that's all in code I haven't released source for, however in the "osd" folder there is a "config.ini" which has some values that you can set/change (colours but not anything more really).. I should really tidy it up and publish it!

Ideally I'd love to get some animations on it, pixel art style, but would need way more time for that :P

I’m not too bad with animation, after effects, photoshop, illustrator, premiere... i’ll try something cool.
I’m not afraid of programming also, i’ve already took a look to your code, and i already know in which direction i should dig.

My first 7 years of work were software coding and online shop coding :mrgreen:

This was some time ago but you never forget when you were born in all that... it’s like bicycling :ugeek:

When you complete it, can you provide the STL files for the POGO pin holder, and battery tray please?

Hey YaYa,

Any update on how you went holding battery down in the device?
