What do you do with so many gameboys?! Do you ever keep one to play? Or is the build the hobby? :D
I build and sell them. Sometimes I keep one for long enough to play through a game etc...I like building though, so that's why I keep doing it (and selling them funds later projects, as well as allowing me to buy new tools and such with the bit of profit I get). I think next time Kite runs a preorder I may get a Circuit Sword for my personal use!

You need it to survive the long winters (I live in Ontario...)

I like the way you implemented LR on #5. Looks super comfortable to hold.

It actually was really comfy. But I didn't like how it took up the entire battery tray. Which is why I didn't use it again. In that build the battery went in the cartridge slot, which actually did work decent.

Here's the thingiverse link for anyone interested. I did not create it.

Hi mate

Quick question I'm just about to do my build and I love the 12th one you made. Where did you get those coloured buttons from?

Also where is best to source a screen these days (I'm building both a zero and cm3)

Thanks in advance ;)

Those buttons came from a pack of 10 color sets from AliExpress, the seller was gamers zone store. I think it was this set.

As for screens. I've been out of the game for a while. But I usually got my screens from gearbest if it was a 3.5" composite, and AliExpress/eBay if I was using a 3.2" ILI9341 SPI screen.

If you're doing a CM3 I assume it's a kite kit? If so those will come with a great screen already.

You can also look into to tinkerboy he sells a dpi adapter, which you can use that will give a much better looking screen that a composite or SPI screen.

Only downside of the dpi adapter is it uses almost all of the pi's gpio pins. But depending on the build that may or may not matter.

Thanks! It was a learning curve for me too. I had never touched a soldering iron when I first started and wermy was the only one who had a guide of sorts. So it was a lot of trial and error and watching wermys vids over and over.

You can also look into the kite kits when they become available again. Really makes it simple to build one. Things have come a long way since I started building these.

i was looking on gearbest the other day, and it looks like they discontinued their model. back to the crappy bw lottery i guess.
