YaGPi3v1 - Yet another Gameboy Pi3 (version 1)
My next Gambeboy gets a Pi3 and a 640x480 display with PSP joystick. It's version 1. Kites Board 0.6C1
YaGPi3v2 with 4-way navigation switch instead of dpad and PS Vita joystick is already planned and designed in CAD. But that is future music.

The story started with joy and fun on a beautiful day, it ended in a bloody massacre. It's not for the faint hearted. But see yourself.....
I don't want bullshit like black bars around a big picture to fit in a too small frame. So I want to make my own glass. I ordered windows of german fire alarms on ebay. They are standardised according to DIN (german standard organisation) 80x80x1mm. It's only a test now, as I don't know how big the glass and the case cut out has to be. I have to watch more youtube videos to make a good cut.
Battery bay and test of the 640x480 screen. Powered over 12V .
L1,2 R1,2 from DieselDummy. I dont use the pogo pins, I cutted the batery bay month before.

Re: YaGPi3v1 - Yet another Gameboy Pi3 (version 1)
Today I installed a small 320x240 screen and ordered a new 640x480 one from Kite. I'm planning to switch screens next week. The wires are on GND, Pin 24 and 25 on the Pi.
The retropie speed, Pi3 compared to Pi0 is amazing. The front glass is not glued yet. I compared super mario world on YaGz and YaGPi3v1. It is fantastic to have a rectangular glass protector without round corner lower right.

Yeah the screen cutting looks a bit irregular but you may try to rectify the shot and straighten the stuff.
Not too bad, hang on !
Great idea making long wires for dieseldummy’s shoulder buttons !

Ahhh ! Wasn’t you that provided a cutting guide ? Can’t remeber the post but it was for a guide to be used with a table router

Yeah, I was so glad you remembered.
I bought a cheap SAIO from a forum member some month ago time. The package also included the case with a poorly cropped screen cut-out (but no XY) and the black buttons. I just took out the lower right corner with a knife. Because I know that the 640x480 screen is too big anyway, I took the case to test how big I have to cut the cut out in the future. And I want to use it to test the glasses I cut myself. I dont want to waste a good case for it.
The next version will be cut out cleanly with a well fitting guide. But first I have to know how big the guide have to be.
