Nate's Gameboy zero pocket build
Hi..... Nate here and i'm building a Game boy zero pocket with a 3.5 inch screen ,rasp pi zero,2200 mAh bat, teensy 2.0,power boost 1000c,2.5 class D amp one full sized usb and micro usb. Its my first time doing a build log type of thing but i'm very determined to do this to the best of my ability. I'm open to suggestions or advise let me know what you think. I'll be implementing a lot different features from various pi zero projects. This is my practice case for the project its a Atomic Purple MGB-001 housing. My donor MGB-001 is a Japanese black model that i obtained for 16 dollars. So far I have fitted the 3.5" screen, it wouldn't fit at first but with a little case moding it did quite well. I now have all of my needed supplies. i cut out the controller pcb and remove all the unnecessary parts. i'm building two more now that this build is finish. a gameboy pocket classic ultra rare don't be mad and a full size gbo with AIO board. This time i will take pics during the whole build showing how easy it can be with these builds lasting about two days one day per build.

Hey, I can't take credit for the design it was afr0dysiak who made some great labels. I don't think I made this sticker also! A Pocket build is something I am also thinking of building with a 2.8 screen.natethegreat28 wrote:@dominator 's labels are great i have so many labels printed but this one just Screams greatness so it is on the cart for now at least
Great work so far, it's going to be an achievement if you can fit it all inside!

Re: Nate's Gameboy zero pocket build
It all fits inside . I did a test fitting its tight but the case closes all the way plus the additional four button on the front is a awesome. The cartridge reader wasn't fitting until i cut it down. I don't have the micro SD PCB yet so its empty in the cart for now. I destroyed my teensy 2.0 its salvageable i guess if there are other usb leads . but i cant stress over it ordered a new one should be here by Sunday. ill add pics soon and video.

Re: Nate's Gameboy zero pocket build
Hey fellow Nate! Glad to hear you got it all to fit in a Gameboy Pocket as I'm working with a Gameboy Color and wasn't sure about getting it to fit. I don't have the screen yet so just seeing how much space everything else took up got me a little worried. I'm interested to hear how you did the X/Y both in button placement and the pads on the back. I ended up taking the pads from two different gameboys and cut them into 4 individual pieces. It's not the prettiest on the inside but it gets the job done!

Re: Nate's Gameboy zero pocket build
I used a flat tac buttons same as wermy just smaller. The game boy color has way more space than the game boy pocket don't worry your good. the bottom half is only for the teensy buttons speaker and sound card and original board and pie. the game boy pocket and gbc boards are the exact same size. word of advise the only problem was the wires omg the wires take up space. manage them good and cover the shell with tape to prevent scratches. the 3.5 screen will fit with a lil bit of cutting. if you have any question ask and ill answer asap.
