I figured there was most likely something I was not thinking of especially without having all the components here. Maybe once I get everything there is still a way I could redesign it.

Probably won’t work with the snes cartridge, but on my build with a full gameboy cartridge (not cut like yours). I used a dremmel to cut a strip off the metal shielding piece just above the bottom? two screw holes. I then filed down the rough edges and covered it in electrical tape the friction keeps it in and stopped it popping out from the top at a funny angle. (I’ve just re-read your post and noticed the snes catridge is doing the same and I think the lip is the way to go). Maybe you could print a/some right angled piece(s) that screw into the same holes so you could keep your cartridge bracket at the top aswell. Something like below

Beautiful build! Very creative!
Mind sharing the link of the STL you used to hold the PCB back button board? And also the STL for the correct fan mount as there are many versions of it on derebbe's thread.

The fan mount version I used was on derebbe's third page modified by Jakewd. Link below. Note that it was blown up ten times so before you print you will need to reduce it to 10% of the original size. I also had to make a few cuts as well to fit better.
