Rodocops 16th build (Kite Lite)

Post by rodocop » Tue Oct 09, 2018 2:28 pm

So I bought a Kite Lite this round of preorders, I kinda wanted a gameboy to keep for myself, and figured this would be a good option. Super easy to put together, and it looks really great. I love the lack of wires and clutter, really makes for a nice build. I also used one of Helder's megabats in this on as well (He send me an early battery, so no cool label on it. I added a few of YaYa's labels to the battery instead.

I used a nice light grey shell from Retromodding, as well as some nice blue buttons. They were sold out of the matching Start/Select, so I got something close. It's not the end of the world.

Overall this was a great, quick build, highly recommended Kite's boards.

Looking good. :)

May I ask you which 3D parts you used for screen, shoulder button board and powerswitch?
Thanks.

I like the colors.

Looking good...
I just got my lite in today, so it's nice to have something to go by, especially by a pro such as yourself. Gray and black are the colors I'm going with.

Thanks. It turned out great. I typically buy the cheapo Chinese shells. Figured I'd spend a bit more on a nicer case for this one. Retromodding has some really nice color options.

I only use the cases from RetroModding.Com, their quality is superior to those found on eBay. I'd recommend them... And the dark gray case not found on eBay.. To anyone.

Very nice! Very happy to see!! You're probably already aware, but by default the backlight is on the lowest setting, and you can turn it up using the little switches that are accessible when you take out the battery: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... itch-Usage

Yeah. I noticed that. Figured I'd eventually turn it up!
