Started the wiring and decided to forget about hdmi access in order to facilitate an easier build. Removed the gpio pins usb port and shortened the 3.5mm jack and now it fits in the cartridge slot. Its probably going to be a bit of a struggle to cover it neatly. But at least the sd card will be accessible. Not to sure about cooling yet.

nice. maybe if you vent the back and cart enough, it'll be ok. or, if you can get some low profile heatsinks to put on the pi.

Fully stripped the pi. And got everything wired for a test fire. It seems the powerboost 1000c isnt going to cut it. Had tons of lag and the nice under volt symbol. I have already ordered cambles safe shut down for it. Any suggestions are welcome. Not really sure how to proceed. Looks like helders psu would be the winner but doesnt look like it works with the safe shut down?

Also why are my pictures always sideways?

what makes you think helder's psu won't work with the safe shutdown? that was my plan too for my build.

also - my pics do that too :\

this is what my plan looks like. everything seems to fit together now, but i have to wire up the power and the rear fan, switches, and buttons.

I'm not sure about the battery monitor though - I wonder if the battery pad on the tinkeryboy v3 is meant for battery monitoring, and if so, how to get that configured, or if i could/should use the psu, or what the best approach there is.

Yeah, i think you are right. After looking into the LBO pin that is used in the Powerboost, I think you'd have to re-do it's functionality to trigger the shutdown with it.

So... now I think I'm just going to wire up a switch for cutting power directly, and then use the ads1015 in the PSU to do the battery monitor, and it looks like you can set a gpio pin helder's one-for-all config to trigger a shutdown.

Heya guys, It is nice to see that over here it an ever-growing community :)

I've finished my GBZero Build (Black on Black) :) Used TinkerBoys V2.2 and a screen from Amazon, but with a gearbest driver module, beautiful screen.
But Having also an Arcade Joystick Case with a Raspberry Pi 3b+, you can notice the difference

So I have ordered all new stuff for the New Build. White on White (White case with White Buttons) TinkerBoys V3, Aliexpress Powerboost, although considering Helders PSU, Helder MegaBat which looks amazing! And all other bits and bobs. The Screen I have is the GearBest one. My question here holds, Where are the AV pins for the Screen? I'm not a very expert, but I prefer to ask rather than burn a new board (burnt my first Pi0 :D :D )

Could you please provide some info or a wiring guide/photo would be amazing :)

Once Again

Thank you very much

Check tinkerboy’s site - he has great how-tos for both the gearbest screen and his board.

Helder’s Psu works well for the a+ or b+ and I would guess you’d run into the same current issues as the Adafruit with the generic, but I didn’t try that setup myself. For zero builds the generic seems plenty good enough.

Thanks man :)

But which pins underneath the board are you connecting the AV? Because I still have not found it :x

there's no "A" just "V" - you get audio from the pi some other way (when you use tinkerboy;s v3, it has usb audio). and there are two possible video inputs, so you just use one or the other.

here's his picture, for wiring:
