It'll of course be heavier than a plastic case. The billet of aluminum starts out at 1.5 pounds for each half so 3 pounds total. The front and back weigh almost exactly the same at around 0.22 pounds each or 0.44 pounds for a front and a back together. I can probably shave a little more weight off but it'll always be heavier than a plastic case, but on the flip side, the aluminum case is way stronger and it'll last forever.
Aluminum GameBoy Zero build

Re: Aluminum GameBoy Zero build
I've decided to call this build "Metal PiBoy". I laser cut another dummy PCB board from aluminum to test fit as the power board. It has 2 power switches: 1 for main power and 1 for screen power. I'm considering making a batch of these for sale. This is the website I threw together with details... pi2joy.com

This thing is crispy. I havent had experience with a pi zero but I have had a few handheld pi 3 and cm3 gameboys. When is the next batch and reiteration coming? Would love one.
